It is unlikely that you would need to travel via bus or taxi anywhere within the cities central district, unless you were particularly lazy or staggeringly incoherent. Indeed many of the pubs and clubs are based in the Micklegate area of the city. Check our event list to encounter if transport is included to and from the event in question (many are) but if you intend to stay within the confines of the city, then there's no need for a designated driver which means nobody being sensible and forcing you to come back to the accommodation still wearing your trousers!
